하모니를 표현하는 정세훈 작가
정세훈 작가는 세상이 이루어지고 세상이 존재하는 근본에 대해 생각하고 이에 대해 관찰한다. 아주 작은 점으로 출발한 것이 자연이 되고 세상이 되어 조화를 이루며 흘러가고 있는 것을 꾸준하게 작품으로 표현하고 있다. 이때 사용되는 사각큐브는 정세훈 작가를 나타내는 조형언어이다.
정세훈 작가는 선과 색채로 풍경을 단순하게 모방하는 것이 아니라 작품 속 큐브와 입체화된 형상을 통해 자연에 형태를 부여하면서 작품 속에서 조화를 이루어낸다. 자연풍경을 작은 큐브의 입체 형태로 분할, 집적시켜 하나의 풍경을 완성하던 작품세계는 최근 큐브의 형상을 해체하면서 입체화되었다.
미술평론가 김종근은 “최근 큐브에 형상을 해체하면서 다소 비정형적이고 몽환적으로 입체화된 작품들은 그 오브제로서 물감을 쌓아 올려 퇴적층을 형성하는 평면의 형태로 이미 화면의구성에서 독특하고 색다르다”고 평했다. 작가는 자연적인 시선의 관습에서 벗어나 자신만의 시각적 형식을 강렬하게 구축하려는 욕망을 최근 작품들에서 뚜렷하게 제시하고 있으며 동시에 큐브 조각의 평면과 퇴적층의 입체적 형태 하모니를 구현해내고 있다.

He thinks about the basics of the world exists and observes them. What started out as a very small dot becomes nature, becomes the world, and flows in harmony is constantly expressed as a work. The square cube used at this time is a formative language representing Jeong Se-hoon. He does not simply imitate the landscape with lines and colors, but creates harmony in the work by giving form to nature through cubes and three-dimensional shapes in the work. The artworks, which completed a single landscape by dividing and integrating the natural landscape into a small cube's three-dimensional form, recently became three-dimensional when the cube's shape was dismantled.
Art critic Kim Jong-geun made a comment, “With the recent dismantling of the cube's shape, the rather atypical and dreamy three-dimensional works are already looks special and unique in the composition of the screen in the form of a flat surface that forms a sedimentary layer by stacking paint as an 'object'.” The artist clearly presents his desire to break away from the practice of natural gaze and to strongly build his own visual form, and at the same time embodies the three-dimensional form harmony of the cube sculpture' s plane and sedimentary layers.
